Our position on sexism

In our society, sexism has not been reduced, but sometimes it is transported in a more subtle manner. In Switzerland, gender equality between women and men has still not been implemented. TERRE DES FEMMES Switzerland demands that gender equality as enshrined in the Swiss national constitution be implemented finally and without undue delay!

TERRE DES FEMMES Switzerland is fighting for

• The announcement of an ombudswomen/man against sexism and gender stereotypes in the public sphere.
• Positive advertisement which takes the diverse gender roles of our times into consideration.
• Sensitises consumers and youth towards stereotypical advertisements and the consequences of it.

Based on this paper, we continuously draw up new positions on burning issues such as

• Prostitution and sexwork in Switzerland
• trafficking in women and forced prostitution in Switzerland
• women in media, business and advertising in Switzerland
• pornography (expected).
